Bryan will offer some perspectives on integrating diverse identities into classrooms via Strategic Text Selection – critical consideration of the resources selected and shared with learners. He’ll share a resource that he created in response to book challenges / book bans that helps to consider how to be attentive to and integrate voices and identities that may otherwise be marginalized. Using the lens of Critical Literacy, participants will explore how to engage learners in thoughtful conversations around power, justice, equity, and inclusion.
